The historic Patsy’s Pizzeria has expanded to a new downtown flagship within the Freehand New York hotel at 23 Lexington Avenue. Founded in 1933 by Pasquale Lancieri in Harlem, Patsy’s is one of New York City’s oldest pizzerias, renowned for its coal-oven pizzas. The new 96-seat location introduces a “pizzeria con cucina” format, offering both classic coal-fired pizzas and a full Italian menu. Led by Executive Chef Pietro Aletto, the menu features staples like the Classic New York, Margherita, Hot Soppressata, and Vodka pies, alongside indulgent options such as Spicy ’Nduja and White Truffle pizzas. Beyond pizza, the menu includes mozzarella-stuffed supplì, mezzi rigatoni alla cacciatore, and whole butterflied branzino. The cocktail program offers unique drinks like the Pepperoni Martini and a clarified Pomodoro Americano. The interior blends restored architectural details with contemporary design elements, featuring brass accents, marble floors, and deep green upholstery that nod to Patsy’s original aesthetic. Patsy’s Pizzeria is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 am to 11 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11 am to midnight.
