The Flatiron District in Manhattan has recently welcomed a new culinary addition: La Piadineria, Italy's leading fast-casual chain, has opened its first U.S. location at 18 East 23rd Street.
This marks a significant step in the company's international expansion, bringing the traditional piadina sandwich to New York City.
The piadina, a thin Italian flatbread from the Emilia-Romagna region, is freshly rolled, baked, and filled with ingredients like prosciutto, soft cheese, and arugula.
At the Flatiron location, customers can enjoy these authentic sandwiches in a 30-seat space, with prices ranging from $11 to $17.
The menu features classics such as the 'Giulia,' filled with Prosciutto crudo di Parma, Stracchino cheese, arugula, and extra virgin olive oil.
This opening is part of La Piadineria's broader strategy to introduce its authentic Italian offerings to the American market.
With over 530 locations in Italy and a growing presence in France, the company aims to replicate its success in the U.S.
CEO Roberto Longo emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating that the American market is highly competitive but receptive to quality, scalable formats with a strong identity.
The Flatiron District, known for its blend of office spaces and tourist attractions, provides an ideal setting for La Piadineria's fast-casual dining experience.
The company's commitment to quality and authenticity is evident in its approach, from sourcing ingredients to adapting its menu to local tastes while maintaining the essence of Italian cuisine.
As New Yorkers continue to embrace diverse culinary experiences, La Piadineria's arrival offers a fresh and authentic taste of Italy's beloved piadina sandwich. |
