Manhattan residents have a prime opportunity to responsibly dispose of old electronics and textiles during the upcoming Community Recycling Day on Wednesday, April 15th.

From 10 am to 2 pm, the Flatiron South Plaza will host this eco-friendly event, aligning with Earth Month celebrations.

Participants can bring both working and non-working items, including computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, cables, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, cell phones, and PDAs.

Additionally, clean and dry textiles such as clothing, shoes, towels, hats, bags, gloves, linens, bedding, curtains, and unsoiled fabric are accepted.

In partnership with SoMad®, the event will also collect clean plastic bags for recycling.

For a comprehensive list of acceptable items, attendees are encouraged to consult the event's official guidelines.

Later in the month, on Saturday, April 25th, the city will celebrate Car-Free Earth Day from 10 am to 4 pm.

Hosted by the NYC Department of Transportation, this annual event opens select city streets exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists, promoting sustainable transportation.

The Flatiron NoMad Partnership will feature family-friendly interactive programming and public art installations on the Flatiron South Plaza during the festivities.

These initiatives underscore Manhattan's commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement.

Residents are encouraged to participate actively in these events to contribute to a greener, more sustainable city.

For more details on these events and other Earth Month activities, residents can visit the official event pages.

Embrace the spirit of spring cleaning and environmental responsibility by joining your neighbors in these impactful community events.
